The Show

MRS. DOUBTFIRE the feel-good comedy musical based on the beloved film, arrives in Melbourne this November. Out-of-work actor Daniel Hillard will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce, he creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate bid to stay in their lives.

As his character takes on a life of its own, Daniel learns more than he bargained for about family, love, what it means to be a father. Featuring all the iconic moments you know and love, plus fabulous new songs and show-stopping dance numbers, MRS. DOUBTFIRE is a hilarious and heartfelt musical that proves we’re better together.

The Show

  • Rehearsals will commence in Melbourne on or about Monday 12 October 2026 for the role of Daniel Hillard / Mrs. Doubtfire and all children only.
  • Rehearsals will commence in Melbourne on or about Monday 19 October 2026 for the remainder of the company.
  • Premiere season at the Princess Theatre, Melbourne in November 2026.
  • Publicity dates and costume fittings will be required in advance of these dates.
  • All contracts offered will be Run of Play.
  • All applicants must have existing legal rights to work in Australia.
  • Children Auditions will be held at a later date throughout 2026. All applicants may be required to obtain a valid Working With Children Check for each state visited during the tour.
  • All dates are subject to change at the Producer’s sole discretion.

Audition Process

The audition process for MRS. DOUBTFIRE will involve multiple audition rounds. Auditions will be held in March 2026. In-person preliminary auditions will be held in Sydney and Melbourne. Please note, not all roles/artists will be required to submit or attend a preliminary audition
